Delaware Tech Men’s Basketball Finishes 2018-2019 Season; Delaware Tech Baseball Kicks Off 2019 Season

Men’s Basketball

Delaware Technical Community College’s men’s basketball team finished the 2018-2019 season without a win, after losing to County College of Morris 82-59, Cumberland County Community College 82-67, and Bucks County College 66-62.

Against Morris on Feb. 16, sophomore Darius Jackson (Appoquinimink) had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman Corey Doran (Hodgson) also had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Against Cumberland County on Feb. 18, Jackson had another double-double with 23 points and 18 rebounds, while freshman Anthony Davis (St Georges) had 18 points, and sophomore Kharee MacElree (William Penn) pulled down 10 rebounds.

Finally, against Bucks County, Doran scored 22 points, while Jackson had 13 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.


Delaware Tech’s baseball team opened up the 2019 season on Feb. 15 by beating Cecil Community College 8-5 in the first game of a doubleheader, and tying Cecil 7-7 in the second game.

In the first game, freshman Jordan Haddaway (Delmar) struck out 10 in five innings, while freshman Matt Marandola (DMA) hit a two-run home run, and sophomore Dwayne Harmon (Cape Henlopen) knocked a double.

In the second game, sophomore Tyler Cunningham nailed a home run in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game. Sophomore Ben Hudson came in for relief pitching duties and struck out four in two innings.

The baseball team is currently scheduled for two home doubleheaders to round out the February schedule – against Cumberland County College on Saturday, Feb. 23 and against Rowan College at Gloucester County on Sunday, Feb. 24. Start time for both days is at noon. All home games are played at Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus in Georgetown.
