Defense shines in low-scoring affair with SUNY-Purchase

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team stumbled to the Purchase Panthers, 5-2 at home on Saturday.

Leo Kelly paced Wesley's offense with a goal and an to collect two points. Adam Tewey registered Wesley's second goal in the third quarter.

On defense, Dylan Sicca gave the Wolverines a chance to compete with 13 saves during his time in net. Ben Mitzel (Milford) and Nick Bruhn caused a combined 11 turnovers with Mitzel causing a game-high six and Bruhn right behind him with five. Bruhn also scooped up a team-best five ground balls. Tewey, Bruhn and Zach Farnell all picked up four ground balls each.

Christian Ishoo led the Panthers with two goals.

Wesley will be back in action on Wednesday, Mar. 27 when they host the Delaware Valley Aggies. Faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
