FREDERICKSBURG, Va. –
The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly baseball awards on Monday and Salisbury University sophomore Jimmy Adkins (Delmar) was named the league's Pitcher of the Week.

Adkins received the honor after he pitched a complete game shutout on the road against conference opponent and top-ranked Christopher Newport University on Sunday afternoon. He scattered six hits across the full nine innings of work while he struck out six batters.

Adkins also recorded a save earlier in the week when he closed out an 11-8 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Stevenson University. He now holds a 3-0 overall record including two saves for a 2.01 earned run average across 44 2/3 innings of work.
