Penn College Duo Sweeps Final NEAC Softball Weekly Awards of 20

- The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has Kylie Shreiner and Morgan Heritage as announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in softball for the week ending April 28. This week marks the final set of awards of the 2019 season for softball.

Kylie Shreiner (East Petersburg, Pa.) from the Penn College has been honored as the NEAC Softball Player of the Week after batting .483 in eight conference games last week. The Wildcats’ senior helped her team go 7-1 on the week with 14 hits, including a game-winning grand slam against Wells. Shreiner had six-extra base hits, seven runs, 15 RBIs and a stolen base. She also completed the week with a .500 on-base percentage and a .759 slugging percentage.

Morgan Heritage (Hodgson) from Penn College has been recognized as the NEAC Softball Pitcher of the Week with a 0.25 ERA and 42 strikeouts in seven appearances last week. The Wildcats’ sophomore went 4-0 on the week while allowing one earned run and 11 hits in 27.2 innings pitched. Heritage tossed complete-game shutouts against Lancaster Bible and Penn State Abington to help the Wildcats clinch the No. 2 seed in the South Division.
