#4 Howard upsets #2 Delmar 50-29

DELMAR, De.- The 4th-seeded Howard Wildcats travels the whole state to upset the 2nd-Seeded Delmar Wildcats 50-29. 

Howard would strike on their opening drive with a 1-yard touchdown run by Kevin Ignudo. The next possession, Karvin Reeves would strip Delmars quaterback Jacob VonArx, Reeves would return the fumble 83-yards for another touchdown.  Delmar would fumble the ball again five minutes later that fumble would lead to another touchdown by Howard freshman Keshaun Watson to give the Howard a 22-0 lead in the first quarter. Delmar would get on the board before the end of the quarter with a VonArx option keeper making the score 22-7.

Howard would strike back right away with another Ignudo touchdown run. Delmar would answer in the second quarter scoring two touchdowns. VonArx would  connect with tight end Zach Covington, then Delmars Defense would get a touchdown of their own on a 13-yard fumble return by Jamar Cuffee to pull within 28-22 at the half.

Howards defense would start off the second half  as they did in the first creating another turnover with an interception on Delmars first possession. Then the controversial moment of the game came as Howards Ignudo would appeared to be stopped–with a knee on the ground, only to bounce up and keep running for a 44-yard touchdown. The referrees would converse and rule it a touchdown as the play would stand. 

Howard would go on to outscore Delamr 16-7 the rest of the game defeating them 50-29 earning themselves a sport in the Division II State Championship. Howard will face the reigning state champions Woodbridge Blue Raiders. The game is Saturday November 30th at UD Stadium with a start time of 6PM.
