Delaware Tech Men’s Basketball Weekly Roundup

Delaware Technical Community College’s men’s basketball improved to 6-7 on the year by splitting two games this past week, as the 2019-2020 season resumed.

Delaware Tech came up just short against Manor College on Jan. 14, losing 76-72. Freshman Rashaan Butler (Mt Pleasant) of Wilmington, led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Jared McGarrity had 15 points, freshman Dan Van Wickle (Concord)of Wilmington, had 13 points and nine rebounds, and freshman Shymier Johnson (Hodgson) of Claymont, pulled down 13 rebounds.

Delaware Tech rebounded to pick up a big 84-78 win over Anne Arundel Community College on Jan. 16. Butler once again led the way with a huge 31-point, 16-rebound performance, while Yshaad Butcher (Mt Pleasant) of Wilmington, had 21 points. McGarrity added 15 points.

Delaware Tech hits the road next week, traveling to Essex County College on Jan. 21 and to Bucks Community College on Jan. 23. Delaware Tech will host Harrisburg Area College on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the 76ers Fieldhouse in Wilmington, starting at 2:30 p.m.
