Howards Bryan Wright signs with Kansas City Chiefs as undrafted

Bryan Wright played at Howard High School where he accelled at the Quarter Back position he threw for over 1600 yards & rushing for over 500 yards. As a natural athlete he would also stand in as the kicker & Punter for the team as well. 

Wright Joined the Bearcats after a year at Jireh Prep in Matthews, North Carolina where he played defensive end. 

Wright made the move from Line Backer in 2018 with instant success. He had a career day in the opener at UCLA, finishing with 3.0 tackles for a loss, 2.0 sacks and forced fumble and earned AAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. 

In 2019 Wright would have a standout season on a defensive that would lead the AAC in scoring. Here are his accomplishments as they are listed on the Cincinnati Bear Cats official page. 

• First-Team All-American Athletic Conference.
• Team captain.
• Played in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl.
• UC’s defense led the AAC in scoring defense for the second-straight campaign. 
• Second on the team with 100 stops along with 13.5 tackles for a loss, seven QB hurries, four pass break ups, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. 
• Earned a spot on the AAC weekly honor roll twice, had seven or more tackles in eight games and set a career mark with 12 tackles against Tulsa.
• A preseason Third-Team All-American Athletic Conference choice by Athlon Sports and a fourth-team honoree by Phil Steele’s Preseason College Football Magazine.

Bryan was also a three-year varsity basketball player who played on Howard’s State Championship squad in 2012-13 season.
