Durkin Announces Additions to Roster

Marcus Lewis and Rayshad Lewis are set to join the Terps football program

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland football head coach DJ Durkin has announced the addition of transfers Marcus Lewis and Rayshad Lewis to the program. Both players will sit out the 2017 season per NCAA transfer policy.

Marcus Lewis will have two years of eligibility remaining, while Rayshad Lewis will have three years.
A product of nearby Gonzaga College High School, Marcus Lewis spent the last two seasons as a defensive back at Florida State. Lewis played in 12 games for the Seminoles, making five starts. As a sophomore in 2016, Lewis totaled 21 tackles and two pass breakups before missing the final five games with an injury. Lewis was a consensus four-star recruit and rated as the second best player in Washington D.C. in the 2015 recruiting class.
Rayshad Lewis joins the Terps after a spectacular freshman season at Utah State. In 2016, the wide receiver set program freshman records for receptions (40) and receiving yards (476). Lewis was a first team all-state performer at Bishop Moore in Orlando, Florida. He is the son of former Baltimore Ravens All-Pro and two-time Super Bowl champion Ray Lewis.
