ATHENS, W.Va. Senior quarterback Connor Jessop (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run /Virginia Tech) completed 16-of-32 passes for 327 yards and three touchdowns, while senior running back Jabre Lolley (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) rushed 16 times for a 130 yards and two touchdowns to lead Shepherd University (4-0, 4-0 MEC) to a 49-20 win over Concord (1-4, 1-4 MEC) in MEC football action at Concord on Saturday. 

Concord took a 3-0 lead on the opening drive as Zach Keaton connected on a 26-yard field goal with11:06 left in the first quarter.

Shepherd answered back when Lolley scored a one-yard plunge with 9:36 remaining in the first quarter. 

Senior kicker Zach Wise (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs) added the extra point to give the Rams a 7-3 lead.

Jessop fired a 15-yard scoring strike to junior wide receiver Ryan Feiss (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) with 4:02 left in the quarter to up the lead to 14-3.

Sophomore running back Patrick Griffin (Seaford, Del./Sussex Tech) scored on a two-yard run with 10:46 left in the second quarter  to complete an 11-play, 67-yard drive and up the Shepherd lead to 21-3.

Adam Fulton teamed with Camari Murray on a 53-yard scoring strike for Concord minutes later to cut the lead to 21-10.

Keaton added a 34-yard field goal with 2:17 left in the half to make it a 21-13 Shepherd advantage.

Shepherd took a 28-13 lead into the break as Jessop fired a 30-yard scoring strike to junior wide receiver Wanya Allen (Sterling, Va/Potomac Falls) in the right corner of the end zone with six seconds left in the half.

Lolley scored on a three-yard run on the opening drive of the second half with 13:04 left in the third quarter to increase the Shepherd advantage to 35-13.

Jessop teamed with sophomore wide receiver Hakeem Holland (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances/Virginia Union) on a 75-yard score with 10:48 left in the quarter.

Griffin added a four-yard scoring run with 2:09 left in the third quarter to up the lead to 49-13.

Fulton teamed with Tywan Pearce on a 16-yard scoring pass with 7:11 left in the game to complete the scoring.

Fulton completed 18-of-34 passes for 244 yards for Concord.

Griffin added 16 carries for 93 yards for the Rams, JaVaughan Burrus rushed for 30 yards on 10 carries for Concord.

Feiss led the Shepherd receivers with eight catches for 132 yards. Brandon Plyler had five catches for 62 yards for the Mountain Lions.

Shepherd gained 573 yards of total offense, while Concord totaled 278.

Senior linebacker Cameron Reynolds (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge)  and freshman Ponce DeLeon (Greenbelt, Md./Montgomery Blair) each had six tackles with five solos to lead the Shepherd defense. He also recorded a pair of sacks. Zach Malone had seven tackles (four solos) to pace the Mountain Lions.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Liberty at noon for Homecoming.

 Jabre Lolley rushed for 100 yards or more for the third straight game ... Connor Jessop passed for 300 yards or more for the third time this season ... Ryan Feiss has had 100 receiving yards or more in all four games this year ... Shepherd's 20 penalties and 207 penalty yards to break the previous single game record of 19 penalties for 206 yards against West Virginia State in 2016.
