West Chester Finishes in 2nd at the Thomas Murphy Invitational

Baltimore,  Md.-On day two of the Thomas Murphy Invitational the West Chester University women's swimming and diving team had another strong day en route to a second place finish as they recorded a team score of 910 just 34 points behind Johns Hopkins who took home the victory.

In the second session early in the day West Chester had quite of a bit of success beginning with the 200 freestyle relay team of Meghan Keithly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West), Morgan Haines (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) , Morgan Haney (Lilitz, Pa./Warwick), and Mikaela Lantz (Reading, Pa./Reading) who posted a time of 1:37.46 which was good enough for a second place finish. Burns also captured first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:29.67 while teammate Emma O'Neill (Glenside, Pa./Abington) finished in third with a 4:40.60.

In the 100 fly Haney captured another 2nd place finish as she turned in a time of 57.23.

In the 1650 freestyle the Golden Rams swept the top three with Georgia Wright (Doncaster, UK) capturing first with a time of 17:20.36, Lovisa Nyman-Persson (Umea, Sweden) finishing in second with a time of 17:41.67 while Jenna Fox (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) finished third with a time of 17:58.20.

In the 3 meter diving Nadia Mulder (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) captured first while Lindsey Pope (York Haven, Pa./Northeastern) finished third.

In the final session of the day the 200 medley team of Burns, Haney, Keith, and Lantz finished in third with a time of 1:48.40. Burns also captured fourth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.06. Haney captured first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.79 to wrap up the Golden Rams weekend.

West Chester is back in action on December 1st and 2nd at the TCNJ Diving Invitational.
