GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Eastern Coast Athletic Conference announced its annual field hockey awards today and Arcadia University field hockey freshman Lauren Dougherty earned the nod for Rookie of the Year; she and junior Kayla Brennan (Milford) were each named to the All-ECAC Team.

During her rookie campaign, Dougherty, who played and started all 20 games for the Knights,  led the team with 36 points and 16 goals, adding four assists. The Warrington, Pa. native had three hat tricks on the season, with two in her first three games.

"Doc was able to provide our offense with a spark right from the beginning of our season," said head field hockey coach Erin Livingston. "She was a consistent contributor and I am excited to see her grow as a player."

Joining Dougherty on the All-ECAC Team is junior Kayla Brennan. Brennan received All-ECAC  Honorable Mention after posting a team third-best 15 points with six goals and three assists. The Milford, Del. native played and started all 20 games on the year, adding stability to the defensive end of the field, including four defensive saves.

"Kayla is a junior captain that helped lead our defense," Livingston said. "Throughout the season Kayla provided stability and consistency for our defense."

The team finished 10-10 on the year and qualified for the ECAC Division III Championship Tournament.
