Karoline Sandvig Named the MAAC Female Field Performer of the Week

The senior earned weekly for the first time in her career
Lawrenceville, NJ – Senior thrower Karoline Sandvig (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor Plainsboro HS South) of the Rider University women's track and field team was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Female Field Performer of the Week on Tuesday afternoon as announced by the league office.

Sandvig earned weekly distinction from the MAAC for the first time in her career and she becomes the second Bronc this season to garner weekly accolades from the conference office joining classmate Sara Gardner (Holland Township, NJ/Delaware Valley).

"Karoline had a really good meet on Saturday," Rider Head Coach Bob Hamer said. "She has improved so much since her arrival at Rider and that is a credit to her and Coach SanFilippo. She has really high expectations for herself and we are really excited for her start to the season. We look forward to even bigger results from her as the season moves along."

???????Sandvig had an impressive showing at the Princeton New Year's Invite last weekend for the Broncs. She finished third in the weight throw with an ECAC-qualifying toss of 17.47m. Her mark in the event is the best in the MAAC this season and she also set a new personal best.

The Princeton New Year's Invite was the final competitive action of the first semester for the Broncs. The team returns to action on Friday, January 5, traveling to Staten Island to compete in the Wagner College Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
