Hawks will look for third straight MAAC Championship
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Head Men's Tennis Coach Alex Kasarov has announced the team's 2018 spring schedule, as the Hawks look to defend back-to-back MAAC Championships.
After an undefeated conference season last year and a win over #4 Fairfield in the semifinals, the top-seeded Hawks won their second straight MAAC Championship, defeating #2 Marist by a score of 4-1. Monmouth clinched an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year, and fell to eventual NCAA Champion Virginia in the first round for the second straight year.

During the fall, the Hawks found success at the ITA All-American Championships and ITA Northeast Regional Championships among other tournaments.

Monmouth has 24 matches scheduled for the 2018 regular season, beginning with a January 13 match at Old Dominion. The Hawks will also compete in the NJIT Invitational on Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28.

After facing Old Dominion, the Hawks will have non-conferences matches against William & Mary, DePaul, Fordham, Georgetown, and George Washington before a rematch with Virginia on February 11.
Matches with Wagner, Navy, Villanova, Temple, Princeton, Coastal Carolina, St. John's, and Buffalo will follow before conference play.

On March 31, Monmouth will travel to Niagara for the MAAC opener, then make the short trip to St. Bonaventure the next day. After facing Army on April 8, Monmouth reopens conference play on April 14 against Siena in West Long Branch. Matches with St. Peter's, Fairfield, Rider, Quinnipiac, and Marist close out the regular season.
