Pirates' Winning Streak Halted By Charlotte

RESULT
Charlotte held ECU to 19 second half points and 33.3 percent shooting overall and the 49ers ended a four-game losing streak with a 69-50 win over the Pirates inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum Monday night, snapping their three-game winning streak.
 
TURNING POINT
ECU led Charlotte by five at halftime, but suffered through an almost eight-minute scoring drought as the 49ers scored 17 unanswered points to take an 18-point lead, 57-39, with 7:58 to play. The 49ers led by double figures the remainder of the game.
 
ECU PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Kentrell Barkley posted his third double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds … He also recorded his 200th career assist to become only the second player in school history with 200 dimes and 500 rebounds.
 
CHARLOTTE PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Andrien White scored a career-high 30 points on 10-of-20 shooting, sinking four 3-point baskets and all six of his free throw attempts … He is the first player in the 25-game series history between ECU and Charlotte, on either side, to score 30 points in a game.

KEY PERFORMERS
Isaac Fleming (Wilmington DE) led the Pirates with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting with six assists and three steals, playing 39 minutes … Fleming led the team in scoring for the third consecutive game and fifth time overall this season … Jabari Craig and six points, six rebounds and six blocks in 31 minutes of action.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE AND MORE
The Pirates were held to their lowest single half of the season, scoring just 19 points after intermission … ECU was outscored in the paint for just the second time this season … ECU yielded a season-high 24 points off turnovers … Aaron Jackson and B.J. Tyson each played in their 100th career game … Freshman Justin Whatley didn't play due to injury.
