JERSEY CITY, NJ – Monmouth battled back to tie the game in the first half after trailing by 13, but couldn't do the same in the second and fell at Saint Peter's on New Year's Eve, 77-64. Micah Seaborn (Fort Worth, TX/Prime Prep Academy) scored 16 points in just 20 minutes to lead MU.

The Peacocks were hot to start the second half, converting four triples and a three-point play in the first 3:15 of the half to start the stanza on a 15-5 run. The SPU lead in the second grew to as many as 19, with MU cutting it to as little as 13 at points but no closer.

Saint Peter's jumped to a 19-6 lead in the opening half, but MU battled back with a 16-4 run to trim it to one on Zac Tillman's (Yeadon, PA/Shipley School) layup at 4:53. The Hawks got within one two more times, before Seaborn brought the ball up and pulled a left wing triple to tie the game with 44 seconds remaining in the half. The score would hold at 30-30 at the break.
