Eagles Soar Past Tigers in Cross Division Contest

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University men's basketball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) cross division match up to visiting Post University by the score of 67-55 on Saturday afternoon inside the Campus Center Gymnasium.

How It Happened
* Post closed out the game on a 14-2 run over the final eight minutes to defeat the Tigers after Holy Family tied the game at 53-53 at the 8:11 mark.  Junior Jalen Thompson (Wilmington, Del./Concord (Harford C.C.)) converted a pair of free throws to tie the game before the Eagles eventually took the lead back when Tamas Okros scored a layup at 6:45 to play. 
* The Eagles scored 14 straight points in the final eight minutes and held the Tigers scoreless for a seven minute stretch before redshirt sophomore Trai Greer (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Township) scored a layup with 1:08 to play to end the drought.
* Holy Family overcame a seven-point halftime deficit after opening the second half with a 13-0 run.  The Tigers grabbed their biggest lead of the game with a 39-33 advantage thanks to the surge at the start of the half.  Freshman Terrell Jones (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) accounted for all 13 points after shooting 5-of-6 from the field, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc during the run.

Holy Family: Jones led all scorers with a game-high 20 points to go along with nine rebounds and two steals on defense… Thompson added eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds while blocking three shots.
Post: Tyler Desrosiers came off the bench the supplied the Eagles with a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out four assists… Jaylen Washington finished with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Joseph Lockwood contributed eight points and 10 rebounds.
All-Time Series
Today marked the 20th meeting between Holy Family and Post since the start of the Tigers' NCAA Division II era beginning in 2003-04.  The series is now knotted up at 10-10 after the Eagles' victory.

Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 24 as the Tigers hosts Wilmington University in a CACC contest. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
