Hillers rebound, take field hockey lid-lifter

- Katy Craft and Caitlin Smith scored a little more than a minute apart midway through the second half as Tower Hill began its 2018 field hockey season with a 2-1 squeaker over Dover on Sept. 7 at Richardson Field.

The Hillers controlled play through most of the first half but were unable to solve the Lady Senators' defense. Dover stayed close and managed to take a 1-0 lead on a goal by Chelsea Johnson with 21:59 left on the clock. The advantage lasted for six minutes until Craft scored, with an assist to Sarah Zungalia. Craft was involved in the eventual winning goal as well, feeding the eighth-grader Smith at the 14:08 mark.

Tower Hill (1-0) had a 15-8 shot advantage and 11 penalty corners to Dover's five. Next up for them is a trip to Wilmington Charter on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. The Lady Senators (0-1) visit defending Division I state champion Cape Henlopen on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
