Livingstone hangs on to beat Paine in OT

SALISBURY - Livingstone's College men's basketball team struggled in the second half but needed overtime to beat Paine, 68-66, on Monday in Augusta, Ga.

The Blue Bears came out at the half but came out of the break with some momentum, pulling to within 40-38 before the Lions tightened up their defense.

LC (6-2) trailed early in the overtime, but took the lead for good with free throws. Roger Ray went to the line to hit two with 39 seconds left for a 67-63 lead.

With the Blue Bears up 67-66, Jalen Fykes made one of two free throws for a two-point lead, and Paine (0-6) missed a jumper in the final seconds.

Malik Smith led the Blue Bears with 10 points. Okoye Parker (Caravel) added 9 points & 3 assist.
