(Coyle Left, Cipolla Right, West Chester) WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Coming off a 13-3 non-conference victory at home over Chestnut Hill on Thursday, the West Chester University baseball team returned to Serpico Field on Saturday afternoon to entertain East Stroudsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader. Junior  (Wilmington, Del. / Salesianum) came through with a game-winning hit in extra innings to give the Golden Rams the 4-3 victory to start the day, before WCU went off for 14 runs in the nightcap to earn the 14-6 victory in game two and complete the conference sweep of the Warriors on Saturday. Today's two victories bump the Golden Rams to 14-6 overall and 3-3 in PSAC play, while Saturday's sweep puts East Stroudsburg at 13-9 on the year behind a 3-3 mark in league action. Game One: West Chester – 4 | East Stroudsburg – 3 After starter (Newark, De / Charter School of Wilmington) kept the visitors off the board in the opening half inning, the Golden Rams managed to put the first run of the game on the board in the bottom of the frame thanks to a RBI single by (North Wales, Pa. / North Penn). The score remained 3-0 for the next two innings, until the Warriors scored on a two-RBI from Christian Rishel and a home run from Carson Freeman in the fourth frame to knot the game at 4-4. Melone singled in the seventh to put the winning run on base for the Golden Rams but he was left stranded following a strikeout to force extra innings at Serpico Field. With two outs in the eighth, (Cherry Hill, N.J. / George Mason) doubled to put the winning run on base and (Easton, Pa. / Easton) followed with a walk to give the home team two runners on with two outs. (Cipolla, Charter) NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Jared Melone (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) was a combined 7-for-9 with a double and a home run as No. 15 West Chester swept a non-league doubleheader from No. 11 Southern New Hampshire by scores of 5-3 and 11-1 Sunday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex.   West Chester (5-2) got three strong innings in relief from Tim Edwards (1-0) to come from behind and halt Southern New Hampshire's (7-2) seven-game winning streak to open the 2018 campaign. In the night cap, Melone and Franklin Ramirez (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) were each 3-for-4 in support of another solid outing from freshman hurler Zach Rice (Honey Brook, Pa./Twin Valley) (2-0) to sweep the twinbill.   The Golden Rams put up a single tally in each of the final three frames of game one to complete the come-from-behind win. Leadoff hitter, Justin Horn (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin), knocked in the runs in the seventh and the eighth while Jon Hansen (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) had the RBI in the ninth that added insurance.
