The soccer season continued with some great match ups last week including a key independent conference match between Sanford and St Andrews. The Warriors scored a goal in each half to knock off the number one team 2-1. This week sees a championship rematch as Sallies head to Caesar Rodney for a Tuesday showdown.
Division 1
No. 1 St George’s Tech (10-0)(LW #1) The Hawks picked up wins over Caravel, Delcastle, Middletown, and Odyssey Charter the last two weeks. The Hawks host Hodgson and travel to Glasgow on Thursday.
No. 2 Sallies (6-2)(LW #3) The Sals went 4-0 the last two weeks with wins over LaSalle College, Tower Hill, Wilmington Charter, and North Burlington NJ They didn’t allow a goal in all 4 games. They travel to No. 4 Caesar Rodney on Tuesday and No. 3 Appoquinimink on Thursday, and host Caravel on Saturday
No. 3 Appoquinimink (7-2)(LW #4) The Jags picked up three wins last week including a win over Delcastle. They host Christiana on Tuesday and No. 2 Sallies on Thursday.
No. 4 Caesar Rodney (9-1)(LW #5) They went 3-0 last week with wins over Smyrna, Indian River, Delmar, and Dover. The championship game rematch with Sallies is Tuesday and travel to Cape Henlopen on Thursday
No. 5 Cape Henlopen (9-2)(LW #2) The Vikings lost a pair of 2-1 matches to Brandywine and Sussex Academy and defeated Milford. They travel to Sussex Central on Tuesday before hosting Caesar Rodney on Thursday.
No. 6 Sussex Central (8-1)(LW #6) The Golden Knights went 4-0 the last two weeks with wins over Sussex Tech, Worcester Prep, Indian River and Smyrna. . They host Cape Henlopen on Tuesday before heading to Sussex Academy on Friday.
No. 7 Wilmington Charter (5-2-3)(LW #7) The Force fell to No. 2 Sallies then rebounded to defeat DMA. They host Saint Mark’s on Tuesday; then travel to St Elizabeth’s on Thursday.
No. 8 Middletown (7-3)(LW #8) The Cavs went 4-1 the last two weeks with wins over MOT Charter, Hodgson, Smyrna and Odessa before losing to No. 1 St Georges Tech 2-1. They host Mount Pleasant on Thursday.
No. 9. Delcastle (5-5-1)(LW #9) The Cougars went 0-4 the last two weeks all against ranked teams. They lost to Saint Mark’s, St George’s Tech,Appoquinimink and Sanford. They host William Penn on Tuesday.
No. 10 Christiana (5-3-1)(LW Unranked) The Vikings defeated Odessa last week. They travel to Appoquinimink on Tuesday and host McKean on Thursday.

No. 1 Sanford (8-2-1)(LW #6) The Warriors went 4-0 last week with wins against then No. 1 St Andrew’s, Wilmington Christian, then No. 3 Tower Hill, and Delcastle. They host Friends on Tuesday and Tatnall on Friday.

No. 3 Sussex Academy (9-1)(LW #2) The Seahawks went 4-0 the last two weeks with wins over Delmar, Dover, Cape Henlopen, and Seaford. They travel to Indian River on Wednesday and host Sussex Central on Friday
No. 4. Saint Mark’s (7-1)(LW #5) The Spartans went 2-0 last week with wins over Delcastle and Caravel. They travel to Wilmington Charter on Tuesday before hosting Friends on Saturday.
No. 5 Friends (5-3-1)(LW #3) The Quakers went 1-1-1 last week with a win over Aspira then they tied Tatnall and lost to Caravel/ They travel to Sanford on Tuesday, St Andrew’s onThursday and Saint Mark’s on Saturday. Three road games against teams ranked higher then them.
No. 6 Concord (9-1-1)(LW #7) The Raiders went 4-0 last week with wins over Mckean, Christiana, AI Dupont and Newark. They travel to Mount Pleasant on Tuesday.
No. 7 Tower Hill (5-4-1)(LW #4) The Hillers went 2-2 last week against a tough schedule.They defeated Archmere and St Andrew’s before losing to Sallies and Sanford. They host Wilmington Christian on Tuesday and Tatnall on.Thursday.
No. 8 Indian River (6-3-2)(LW #8) The Indians went 1-2 last week with a pair of losses to ranked Henlopen North teams Caesar Rodney and Sussex Central and a victory over Laurel. They host Sussex Academy on Wednesday.
No. 9.Lake Forest (6-3-2)(LW #9) The Spartans went 3-1 last week with wins against Laurel,Sussex Tech, and Delmar before a loss to Dover. They host Seaford on Thursday.
No. 10 Brandywine (5-3)(LW Unrank) The Bulldogs beat then No. 2 Cape Henlopen, Mount Pleasant and AI DuPont. They host Mount Pleasant on Thursday. They travel to Glasgow on Tuesday and host Archmere on Thursday.
The Independent conference has been so strong this year with 4 teams ranked in Division 2 and every team has big wins on the season. Last week Sanford picked up two conference wins while Friends tied Tatnall, the only unranked team in the conference. That Hornet team reached the semifinals last year and could decide who wins the conference,
