Archmere baseball got the walkoff win over the Concord Raiders Wednesday night at Frawley Stadium. The Auks scored in the bottom of the seventh inning on a sacrifice bunt to take the 2-1 victory over the Raiders.
In a tied game at 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning Silas Aulick led off the inning by getting hit by a pitch. Luke Kenny followed Aulick, and on the first pitch squared to show a sacrifice bunt but pulled the bat back as he saw the pitch was a ball. However the next pitch was a strike as Kenny bunted a ball right in front of the plate that was fielded by Concord’s third baseman Chase Jones.
Jones fielded the ball cleanly but his throw went past the first baseman down the right field line. Silas never broke his stride as he was waved around by the third base coach and headed home to beat the throw securing the walk off 2-1 victory for the Auks.
Riley Schultz got the victory for the Auks pitching a complete game allowing one run and three hits. He also added an RBI single at the plate. He was named our DE302 Player of the Game for his performance.
