Middletown wins first ever as Tatnall wins third consecutive Indoor Track State Championship

The Middletown Cavaliers were crowned the DIAA Boys Indoor Track State Champions, while the Tatnall Hornets won their third consecutive DIAA Boys Indoor Track State Championship. Middletown was able to accumulate 85 team points en route to their schools first ever Boys Indoor Track State Championship. Tatnall cruised to their third consecutive state championship accumulating 133 total team points. 

Middletown not only won their first ever Indoor Track state championship, but set a new state record while doing so. The relay team of Messai Maynor, Amir Jones-Branch, Zamir Miller, and Anai Burney-Green broke the previous record of 1:29.78 set by Salesianum in 2023 with a time of 1:26.63 in the 4X200 Relay. In the 55 Meter Dash Maynor finished first, while Jones-Branch finished right behind him in second place. Then in the 200 Meter Maynor finished first again with Burney-Green finishing second, and Jones-Branch right behind him taking the top three spots in the race.

Tatnall’s Simone Bessong ran for four first place finishes to lead the Hornets. Bessong won three individual races taking first place in the 55, 200, and 400 Meter races. She also anchored their 4X400 relay team of Krissa Woods, Karen Tanner, and Cereniti Johnson as they took first place in the relay race.
