Conrad Science Red Wolves past the Newark Charter Patriots 8-0 on Tuesday at the home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks Frawley Stadium. The Red Wolves were led offensively by Justin O’Connor and Sawyer DeLuca on the mound in the victory.
O’Connor doubled in the fifth inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the sixth inning, scoring two more runs. He went 3 for 4 at the plate with 4 RBI’s and scored a run to lead Conrad. Jacob Deboef and DeLuca each collected multiple hits as both players went 2 for 4 at the plate. Conrad collected 10 hits in total to score 8 runs in the game.
DeLuca got the start on the mound and went the distance for the Red Wolves. He allowed six hits and zero runs over seven innings, while striking out three and walking two batters. Sawyer also scored a run and knocked in 2 RBI’s with his two hits.
Ben Haupt, Shane Connor, Chase Kennedy, Shahid Hinton, Sean Luxton, and Griffin each collected one hit for Newark Charter. Doron Griffin took the loss on the mound for the Patriots.
