The St. Elizabeths Vikings and the Caravel Buccaneers advance to the DIAA Girls Basketball State Championship. The Vikings defeated the Sanford Warriors 40-31, while the Buccaneers defeated the Ursuline Raiders 58-54 to advance to the Girls Basketball state championship.

The Vikings defeated Sanford in the first game of the night by a 40-31 score. The Vikings had three players score in double figures with Taniyah Reese leading the way with 12, Skylar Boldin added 11, and Tori Richardson added 10. Jada Snow led the Warriors with 12 points.

The Buccaneers defeated last year’s champion Ursuline Raiders 58-54 to the DIAA Girls Basketball State Championship. They were led by Chasity (Speedy) Wilson who scored 19 points to lead her team. Cherish Bryant and Brycelyn Stryckning each scored 11 points to join her in double figures. GG Banks led the Raiders with 32 points.The Vikings will face the Buccaneers this Sunday night at 7pm to determine this year’s DIAA Girls Basketball State Championship at the Bob Carpenter Center on the Campus of the University of Delaware.
