In a rematch of last year’s D2 Dual Team Wrestling State Championship the Delaware Military Academy (DMA) Seahaeks defeated Saint Mark’s Spartans for the second consecutive year. The win gives DMA their third consecutive state championship victory for a successful three-peat. DMA defeated the Spartans 42-24.
The Seahawks got four pins in the match by Charles Perrin (157), Griffin Glenn (106), Cole Perrin (113), and Gavin Mundy (138). Jackson Grandel had a huge victory for the Seahawks when he was down seven points, but fought back for a 16-12 win. They also got a win from Piero Papili (144), and two forfeits for Cyrus Hurley (126), and Cale DeNigris (285).
The Spartans had one pin from Jacob Ebaugh (165), and a tech fall from Luke Spoor (190) to lead Saint Marks. They added wins from Finn Hanna (175), Clif Bakhsh (120), and Aaron Menickella (132).
The Seahawks ended their season with a 10-8 record. However they went undefeated in Division 2 with their in-state losses coming to Salesianum (D1), and Sussex Central (D1). Their biggest regular season win came on Jan. 15th as the defeated Cape Henlopen (D1) 45-25. All of their other losses came out of state opponents.
